WordPress - How to Connect your WordPress Blog to SEOPro AI

1. Connect with Username & Application Password (Recommended)

Why?

This is the most secure and reliable method. No plugins needed.

Steps:

  1. Log in to your WordPress Admin.

  2. Go to Users → Profile (or Your Profile).

  3. Scroll down to Application Passwords.

  4. Enter a name (e.g., “SEOPro AI”) and click Add New Application Password.

  5. Copy the generated password (it will look like: abcd efgh ijkl mnop ...).

  6. In our app, enter:

    • Your WordPress site URL

    • Your WordPress username

    • The application password you just created

Done! You’re connected.

2. Connect with Regular Username & Password

Why?

This is the fastest way, but requires a free plugin.

Steps:

  1. In your WordPress Admin, go to Plugins → Add New.

  2. Click Upload Plugin and upload this Basic Auth plugin ZIP file.

  3. Activate the plugin.

  4. In our app, enter:

    • Your WordPress site URL

    • Your WordPress username (the one you use to log in)

    • Your regular WordPress password

Done! You’re connected.

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Make sure your username and password are correct (try logging in to your WP admin to confirm).

  • If you use the plugin method, you must use your real login password (not an application password).

  • If you have security plugins (like Wordfence), they may block API access—try disabling them temporarily if you have issues.

  • If you installed Basic Auth Plugin in your WordPress, the Application Password method doesn’t work. So please disable any Authentication Plugins before trying the Application Password method.
